United Nations Development Program (UNDP) is working with Pakistan government to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) comprehensively.
It was stated by Country Director UNDP Ignacio Artaza Zuriarrain while speaking in a program of News and Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan.
He said UNDP is committed to help Pakistan overcome poverty, combat climate change, promotion of environmental sustainability, better governance, and women empowerment.
Appreciating resilience of the people of Pakistan, he said Pakistan has achieved many successes in recent years and has been successful in increasing its tax to GDP ratio from 9% to 12% which is a positive trend.
Regarding financing for development projects, the UNDP Country Director said China Pakistan Economic Corridor worth over 46 billion dollars is a notable example of South-South cooperation.
He said under the mega project, China is building the basic infrastructure in Pakistan to help its economy expand and grow.
