Pincourt will soon have a Meals-on-Wheels service operating in the community.

A home-delivery service of homemade meals will be available to seniors beginning in October, the town announced.

The service is also available to people “with loss of autonomy, or those with temporary or permanent limitations.”

Meals include soup, a main course and dessert. The meals cost $6 and are delivered on Mondays and Wednesdays, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

People aged 70 and over who are registered for the service also have access to the Home Care Tax Credit, the town said.

The Meals-on Wheels service will be provided by the Centre communautaire des aînés de Soulanges. It’s objective is to help facilitate seniors’ home support and health prevention, the town said.

“I am so proud that we can now offer this service to our citizens,” said Célia Corriveau, head of the Social and Cultural Development division.

“Thanks to Centre communautaire des aînés de Soulanges, many people will be able to receive delicious food of quality . . . at their residences and, above all, that will be delivered by smiling volunteers!”

To register to the Meals-on-Wheels service or become a volunteer, contact Centre communautaire des aînés de Soulanges at 450-265-3548 or 1-855-510-3548, Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
