Bucks County farmers asked to nominate nonprofits | Local |

Do you know of an area nonprofit organization that runs a food bank or youth agricultural program, or provides emergency response assistance in the community?

If so, you might want to consider nominating that nonprofit to receive a $2,500 donation from the America’s Farmers Grow Communities program.

The grant program is sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, the philanthropic arm of the Monsanto Company. Nominations for the honor are being accepted through Nov. 1.

Farmers who are at least 21 years old and are actively engaged in farming at least 250 acres of crops can make the nomination on line at www.GrowCommunities.com or by calling 1-877-267-3332.

The Grow Communities program plans to award more than $3 million to nonprofits in rural communities in 2018.

The initiative has awarded more than $26 million since it began in 2010, including more than $520,000 in Pennsylvania.
